Publish Your Own Writing and/or Artwork
Many authors got their start when they were still in school. We do a lot of writing for this class and there are many websites that provide opportunities for you to get your writing published. Many of these websites have print copies as well. Many of these sites also publish artwork!
Before you submit, publishers expect writers to be familiar with their publications so that you know what kinds of work they publish. Please take the time to become familiar with the magazine by reading a copy before you submit. By understanding the kinds of work they publish, you have a better chance of submitting something that will get published. Otherwise, it just annoys the publisher. Magazines usually have specific guidelines for submission. Please read them first.
